Boy Scout Troop 149 lead the scores of Barn supporters and friends in our Pledge of Allegiance, and past Foundation President, Jane McDonald, made introductions. We had good sales, earning over $1,200 from items that were donated by members and friends of the Barn. Buyers clamored over the baked goods sale, organized and manned by Linda Sullivan. The goal was to raise at least $1,500 to match the grant from the Fine Arts Fund. We almost made our goal, and more money continues to trickle in as we sell a few remaining treasures.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;The grant will allow us to purchase a lecturn with speakers and a microphone, several easels and eventually a digital projector. Don't be fooled by this pizza break - they worked hard to build a walkway along the East side of the property. We have been blessed with Scout volunteer help, and the Senior Class at Mariemont High School. You can drive by occasionally and see kids scraping and painting the outside of the Barn. It was estimated that around 400 people were in attendance. Elaine West took first prize with her watercolor "To the Point".&lt;br /&gt;Funding is progressing, thanks to Michelle Schneider and Tom Brinkman. We hope to receive $220,000 in state funds this year, and get moving on Phase Two.&lt;br /&gt;Classes and workshops are being scheduled.
